back in March 2007, the Municipality of Lido and Pellestrina expressed unanimity of the votes cast, adoption of the Plan dell'Arenile positive opinion of the Lido, is made possible by careful investigation, which was attended by dealers in the commission of the beaches, environmental groups and experts. Received particular attention was the prediction of the areas of dune reconnection. In this regard, the Municipality has decided to eliminate this provision for areas now more strongly populated, but decided to keep the bond in other areas, specifically in the "Sites of Community Importance" by S. Nicholas and Alberoni. This choice was dictated by two reasons: first, the recognition that protected areas in environmental protection is best interests, but also with regard to the beaches of Alberoni, a real need for security. In fact, in the Provincial Emergency Act of 2003, verbatim (4.2): "Along the shoreline of Lido has been identified a single stroke at high risk (of flooding), located in the southern portion of the coast. [...] Were formed spontaneously build wind farms that can not be considered a defense, because without any sense of stability and continuity. The lack of defenses and the presence, directly behind the backshore, the hospital complex of S. Camillo, placed in a much lower proportion than the beach, contribute to the identification of high risk for this section, for which there is a high probability of flooding in the event of storm surge associated with high water. " The Emergency Plan also indicates the implementation of a series of dunes stabilized by phytostabilization windbreaks and as a means of defense against the 'high risk' flood. In a time when the issue of homeland security in terms of hydrological is dramatically present, it is surprising and worrying is that the City of Venice has not yet said a word on the final plan dell'Arenile and indeed have succeeded in the press statements that seem to go in the direction of further amending the plan (which effectively deletes the opinion of the Municipality), eliminating the dune area to reconnect Alberoni (was said to "save the beach Visconti). Given that a ripple on the beach, easily overcome with transits light, we do not believe hinder tourism site or the activities of S. Camillo (which incidentally is being equipped with swimming pools) in the light of the Emergency Plan, we believe that such claims are made with a disarming lightness: We therefore invite the council to be thoroughly considered, and the Municipality and its President to close scrutiny.
