Finally came the results of municipal elections. The victory of the center brightens my pride to be Venetian our city confirms the anomaly in the Veneto, the strength of its democratic history and cosmopolitan. We will not see the patrols Po limestone our streets and our roads, we have a mayor or by service. But the real work begins now: civil society must be vigilant so that the new administration's policies are truly participatory, democratic and united. An appeal to everyone because the guard will not be lowered: "Freedom is participation in" singing Gaber, saying a great truth.
The result of the Federation of the Left PRC-PDCI is unfortunately not satisfactory. According to the latest data published We stop at 3.32%, below expectations, electing one councilor. The left will have to produce the whole depth consideration the significance of this finding and its own perspective. No doubt in the first place we need greater unity.
My personal result is really rather good: with 112 preferences is the fourth most votes from our list (out of 45 candidates) and the second of the PRC, after the leaders, City Council and the outgoing provincial secretary of the PRC Bonzio Sebastian (712 preferences ), the former city planning director and director of the Municipality of Mestre PDCI Giampietro Francescon (197) and the former provincial commissioner of the PDCI Lilli Carnieletto (116). After me, David stops at 49 Ravagnan preferences.
Taking into account the remoteness of the reality in which I served as my administrative activities (note the islands of Lido and Pellestrina: municipality more than peripheral to the centers of Venice and the mainland, less populated town and the only right now) and the fact that I faced for the first time with the elections at the municipal level, in a vast and complex city like Venice, the result is even more significant.
With regard to the Lido and Munciipalità Pellestrina unfortunately victory by a handful of votes of the coalition of right prevents us from achieving the election of a director. It is still the most votes with 76 preferences, followed by his PDCI Sylvester Sasso, which stops at 14.
My personal statement fills me with satisfaction, however, consider it a starting point and not the end. I do not intend to disappoint the trust of those who voted for me and I assure you that my policy will continue activities outside the council. I keep active my Facebook group to continue to meet and discuss with those who have supported me.
I would like to personally thank one by one, meantime, unable to do so immediately, sending everyone a big thank you and I invite you once again to stay in touch.
How shouted in French May "is just the beginning, we continue the fight"
